Katie completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta. She is a licensed occupational therapist in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) and Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
Katie is certified in Prolonged Exposure(PE) therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma Informed Care, and Functional Capacity Evaluations. She has worked with a range of populations including but not limited to adults and seniors. Her areas of practice include home equipment assessments, ergonomic assessments, vocational rehabilitation, and PE therapy for persons with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Katie enjoys working with people who live with chronic pain and mental illness as she is passionate about helping people find ways to manage their symptoms and live healthy, happy lives despite their diagnoses.
In her time off, Katie enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her two cats. She also likes going for nature walks/hikes, doing yoga, snowboarding, and travelling.
