Mara Pozniak

Mara completed a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of the Philippines Manila. She has practiced as a licensed occupational therapist in three countries (United States, Philippines, and Canada). She maintains her license and good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT), the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT),  the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy in the United States (NBCOT), New York State Education Department (NYSED), and the Professional Regulation Commission in the Philippines (PRC).

Mara has many years of OT experience, which includes a diverse clinical background in the areas of cognitive, psychosocial, physical assessment and rehabilitation of both adults and children. She has worked with individuals diagnosed with orthopedic injuries, cognitive impairment, chronic pain, dementia, severe and persistent mental health conditions, and neurodiverse conditions. She has served clients of varied backgrounds and cultures in schools, hospitals, disaster risk reduction and response, non-profit, long term care, community and home settings. She is certified in providing Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy and is completing training to be a certified Sensory Integration Practitioner with Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom. Mara is passionate about supporting people to achieve their functional goals and enjoy their best quality of life as a collaborative partner while being sensitive to how each person experiences the world (intersectional identity).

In her free time, Mara enjoys learning in various forms and topics, culinary pursuits (with some training from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City), singing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
